San Diego is a city located in the southwestern corner of California, the extreme southwestern corner of the contiguous 48 states of the United States of America.
As of 2010, the California Department of Finance estimated the city to have 1,307,402 residents. Its coordinates are 32°42'54"N, 117°09'45"W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 963.6 km². It rains on 29.4 days per year on average.
